Chris Barton has worked for more than 35 years in the plastics industry and has over 30 years’ experience in selling customized capital equipment solutions to customers all over the world.  Prior to joining SAM he worked for almost 20 years at other well-known suppliers of extrusion coating and laminating machines in a number of sales management roles, reaching the position of VP of Sales in Europe.
In his new role at SAM, Chris is responsible for the sales and marketing of SAM’s entire extrusion coating product range. “SAM has blossomed into one of most innovative companies in the converting and extrusion industry and is clearly a leader in this field. I am very excited about this opportunity and the chance to build upon SAM’s achievements in the extrusion coating business.”
Joining SAM along with Chris are Marco Bullano and Luigi Miglietta, who have significantly strengthened the engineering team in Casale Monferrato.
Marco and Luigi worked at various engineering and machine building companies for web-fed materials and are happy to be part of SAM with their knowledge and experience gained in the design of solution, extrusion and printing machinery. Marco and Luigi are working with the latest 3D CAD software to meet the rising demands for customizing SAM’s high-end machinery.

Massimo Bernardelli has succeeded Sergio as Managing Director of the office in Casale, starting October 1st, 2019. Massimo’s states: “The SAM Group and particularly SAM Europe is continuing to grow steadily. With the employment of Chris, Marco and Luigi, we have made good steps forwards but still we are looking for skilled and motivated engineers.”
