“One of our loyal customers in Lucca, will soon die-cut with a Bobst SP 102 E. The company which has always specialized in printing brochures with a 5-color offset Heidelberg SM 74-5 with CP2000 sold by us, has been diversifying a few years ago part of its production in the packaging sector in conjunction with the best growth prospects that this sector offers”, tells us Bruno Camporese, owner of the homonymous company which in Italy is synonymous with high quality used machinery for printing and packaging.

The approach to the new market segment by the owners of the Tuscan company at the third generation was gradual and well managed both in terms of timing and investments. Despite having a good experience in the sale of folding cartons, whose production was entrusted to third parties, the owner decided to invest in the purchase of a Bobst automatic die-cutter with 70×100 format and a folder-gluer, overhauled and guaranteed, bringing the production of boxes inhouse. This policy will ensure the company to recover a good margin as well as being able to guarantee faster and faster deliveries to its customers.

The choice for the die-cutting machine oriented on BOBST for the robustness and reliability of these machines which still remains unsurpassed, allowing processing with maximum and effective pressure of 250 t, at high speeds and guaranteed quality.

In these cases, the choice of the right partner is also of fundamental importance and the combination of Camporese – SBM by Sergio Bocchio is synonymous with guarantee. “After a careful analysis by Sergio Bocchio of customer’s needs, it was considered optimal to propose the Bobst SP 102, foreseeing in the near future the installation of a revised folder gluer”, adds Camporese.

Bobst equipment underwent a zero-copy overhaul in the workshop, replacing all the machine components found worn, with new spare parts to ensure maximum performance and reliability.

“As soon as the die-cutting machine goes into production, our instructors with over ten-year die-cutting experience will follow the customer’s staff to transfer all the necessary and required know-how. The training period will then allow to easily switch to the folder-glue machine that will arrive as soon as the operators will be able to independently manage the production with the die-cutting machine. Avoiding overlapping training on the two machines was a preparatory choice suggested by Sergio in agreement with the customer to reduce the difficulties required by learning both die-cutting and fold-gluing skills”, says Bruno Camporese.

SBM srl, located in Robecco sul Naviglio (Milan), in addition to the workshop for the overhaul of the machines, the machine tool department, the well-stocked spare parts warehouse, has also set up a section for training of new die-cutting and folder gluing operators. To this end SBM uses a manual on die-cutting drawn up by its specialists and protected by copyright. The company carries out lessons in the classroom and shortly also on the machines, thanks to another wing of the workshop, 10,000 square meter wide that is used for this purpose with more machines in production, a Bobst SP 104 ER and a SP 130 ER both with positions separator and relative folder-gluer for the practical training of students, the future operators.

“The customer was largely satisfied with the choice made, both as regards the technologies installed but also for the after-sales support and technical training of the operators. I take this opportunity to thank him on behalf of Camporese but also of SBM for the trust placed in us”, concludes Bruno Camporese.
