CERM acquires cloud-based MIS company Omikai Systems

CERM, the leading provider of MIS solutions for the labels and packaging print industry, has acquired Omikai Systems from Sweden. Omikai has built and commercialized a state-of-the-art cloud native MIS solution for the print and packaging industry.

CERM is a Belgium based independent software vendor focused on MIS solutions for the label and packaging print industries. The solutions of CERM encompass the entire value chain of label and packaging printers from CRM, estimating, products, sales orders, production job management, scheduling, shop floor data collection, warehousing to shipping, invoicing and business intelligence. CERM has over 480 customers in 50 countries worldwide with a primary focus on the EU, North America and Australia & New Zealand.

CERM has significantly grown its global presence and market share. Based on that growth, CERM has invested since 2022 in developing a next-generation cloud platform that will offer label and packaging converters the option to evolve from the current CERM product portfolio to a cloud-based MIS solution. CERM acquired Omikai with a view to accelerating its cloud product development that will be commercialized in the coming years. CERM will continue to offer its current range of MIS solutions, known for their versatility, industry focus, continuous product evolution and integration capabilities with industry partners.

Cloud technologies to make working easier and automate operations throughout the entire value chain

Omikai Systems is an independent cloud SaaS scale up that was founded in 2013 by Mathias Erlandsson based on the vision to create a scalable, open and innovative cloud MIS solution for the print and packaging industries. Omikai offer consists of various MIS modules from CRM, estimating, production, scheduling to invoicing and shipping including a business intelligence offering. The solution is built using the most recent cloud technologies, an ‘API first’ approach, strong integration capabilities and a modern user interface. Omikai has 50 customers and has its main focus on the Nordics, Germany and South Europe.

The acquisition will not result in any changes for existing Omikai customers and partners: “we have been strongly impressed with the cloud MIS product and service offering of Omikai and believe our companies have a similar vision, customer focus and culture” said Jan Heyse, CERM’s CEO. “Joining forces will strengthen our cloud product development and create additional value for our customers.
