Innovative and sustainable packaging solutions: with Sappi boards and papers, both aspects can be implemented in a variety of ways. At the Packaging Première, the globally active manufacturer will be presenting its Atelier double-coated folding box board 1 for the first time in Italy. Visitors to the stand shared with Plastic Stratosfera (C56/D57) will also find out more about the premium paperboard Algro Design, the Fusion Topliner for corrugated board applications and various shopping bag papers.

After only two editions, the Packaging Première has already become a benchmark on the Italian trade fair calendar, attracting close to 5,000 visitors to Milan. Sappi will be exhibiting its selected products at the Plastic Stratosfera stand. “We are very pleased to be on site together with our partner for the third time. And this year we’re celebrating a premiere: our new Atelier folding box board 1 (GC1) will be shown for the first time in Italy,” says Andrea Riva, Sales Manager for Italy, Spain and Portugal at Sappi Packaging and Speciality Papers.

“brilliance meets function”

The new Atelier folding box board samples, which Sappi is presenting for the first time at this trade fair in Italy, are hot off the press. The manufacturer is even talking about a new dimension in folding box board with an unprecedented specific volume. Thanks to the multi-layer concept, the virgin fibre board is bright white and exceptionally stiff and firm – two indispensable properties for folding cartons. With this folding box board 1 (FBB1), Sappi is offering its customers a high-quality cardboard that can be produced in FSC® or PEFC quality on request and further processed to an impressive end result.

Premium boards for premium products

With its three variants, Algro Design is already very well established among many brand owners. The solid bleached board (SBB) stands out with its vivid colour reproduction, high contrast and ideal running properties. Depending on the variant, the reverse side is without, with single- or double-coated, and the finishing options are manifold. This enables designers, agencies and brand owner to set product-specific accents with their packaging.

Visually impressive and stable

Corrugated board packaging with the Fusion Topliner allows branded products to be presented even more effectively, since the corrugated board liner impresses with its high degree of whiteness. Printing with Sappi’s cover paper yields excellent results with brilliant colours and can be processed very well. The Fusion Topliner is used for standard packaging, shelf-ready packaging and POS displays. This fresh fibre liner as well as Algro Design and many other Sappi products are also suitable for shopping bags, transforming them into eye-catchers – from premium to standard bags.

Metallic glossy entirely without plastic

Plastic Stratosfera completes the exhibition portfolio at booth C56/D57 with its Sfera Argento Eco® product, a paperboard with metallic gloss. What also makes it stand out from similar products is the fact that the GC1 board is produced entirely without PET. This makes it recyclable and environmentally friendly. Before the Sfera Argento Eco® can be used to produce packaging, boxes or POS displays, it can be further processed using UV offset, UV screen printing or hot printing.

“The Packaging Première is an excellent opportunity to meet the main players in the Italian packaging industry. We have taken advantage of this opportunity since the first show to work with Sappi to showcase innovative and sustainable packaging solutions,” say Virginia Parma, Managing Director of Plastic Stratosfera and Marco Fusani, direct sales, underscoring the significance of this event.
